Our Tour of Rock Island Lighthouse

If you look closely you won't see a front door—that's because several years ago the metal plate that once covered the doorway was taken off and modified and now guards the entrance to the lighthouse tower.
The generators were bolted to two concrete pads like this one, that kept it off the ground so as to prevent a short when water seeped onto the floor from outside.
Tom pointed out these fixtures in the wall and near the floor, which are ports for the wiring that ran to the tower and into the dwelling house to provide electricity.
The ceiling is painted in a color reminiscent of the dwelling house.
